Now that we have entered 2019, self-driving technologies are growing increasingly prevalent. While there are not yet any commercially available Kia vehicles that can completely drive themselves, the automaker is at the cutting edge when it comes to driver-assist features that help with safety and convenience. Here at Sames Kia, we’d like to highlight some of the most advanced Kia Drive Wise technologies that you’ll find in the new Kia cars on our lot.

Lane Keeping Assist: Used in combination with Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist monitors the position of your vehicle and will provide an audible alert if you drift out of your lane. It can even provide corrective steering if it senses that you’re not fixing the lane position on your own.

Park Distance Warning Forward and Reverse: Available in Kia vehicles like the 2019 Kia Sorento, this feature makes easing into tight spaces in Laredo, TX a bit easier. It uses sonar sensors integrated in the bumpers in order to give an audible warning when the system detects you nearing other vehicles or objects. Additionally, the available Surround View Monitor gives you a 360-degree bird’s eye view of the car in relation to your surroundings.

Forward Collision Warning: This advanced feature can detect road hazards ahead of you in certain situations, even when you do not. It will give audible and visual alerts when it senses a hazard in your path and even will apply the brakes when necessary.

Blind Spot Detection: The days of needing to ask your passenger to check your blind spot are long over, thanks to this new system. The radar-based detection system will send out visual or auditory signals that warn you when a vehicle has entered your blind spot.
